Currently Craving: Glo Minerals

It's always fun getting to try out a new line of cosmetics and see how you can make those cosmetics best suit you. Glo Minerals definately has all of my attention right now.

Being that I have an allergy to gluten I have to be careful about the products that I use and that can be a deal breaker for me. I often have a difficult time finding foundation and lipsticks that are gluten-free, but this company has found a way to do that without leaving my skin or lips too dry. Apart from being mostly gluten free, all of their products are talc-free, non-comoedogenic and free of perfumes and chemical dyes, making them suitable for even the most sensitive skin types. They also don't use parabens or gluten-derived ingredients with the exception of seven products that they have listed on their website.

What I love most is their Luxe Liquid Foundation. And the best thing about it? It is build-able. This foundation can be built upon and you will not see any unevenness on your skin. It's practically magic. The foundation also has SPF 15 which makes it a perfect foundation for those days your are out in the sun but forget your sunscreen. (Oops.) Easy last minute face protection!

Another favorite is the Brilliant "Whisper" Gloss. It is the perfect color to add to your end-of-summer "glo". It's not too dark and adds a dusty rose color to your lips. I pack it with me daily!

As far as lipsticks go, around this time of year I wanted something more neutral and went with the "nutmeg" nude lipstick and I am loving it.

Glo Minerals currently has a summer trio collection that is fabulous. It mixes soft earthy hues for a natural day look or a dramatic chocolate smokey eye, add in the natural flush cheek and shiny white perfecting powder and you are set.

Himalayan Chai Goes to Seattle Hemp Fest

Welcome back! It has been a long few weeks, but I have finally managed to upload our photos from Hempfest and put them into a blog post.  

Going to Seattle Hempfest was a big move for Himalayan Chai and there was a lot of unknown. Besides the friends and family from that area that had tried our chai, we had no idea what the market would be like. The costs to get there were high, but we knew what we had to do to make the trip successful. We spent the week prior buying Moscow out of all their mason jars to make what ended up being close to 120 gallons of chai tea concentrate. 

We finished jarring our last batch an hour before we left town and six of us hopped into the car and began what was one of the most fun weekend of our lives. We arrived in Seattle around 2 am Friday morning. All of us were desperate for sleep but we couldn't get ahold of our contact to set up our tents in his backyard, so we drove over to a park in Ballard and set up camp behind some trees where we couldn't really be seen. 

The next morning we were up at 6 am and on our way to our first day at Hempfest. We were in the Bassdrop Village and coincidentally right next to the stage which meant high traffic for us. So for the next three days we went through the motions of set up, sell, tear down from 10 am to 11pm. Our slowest day was Friday because most people were still at work, but once the weekend actually began we were slammed the entire day. 

Below is a timeline of photos for you to get an idea of our Seattle Hempfest experience. The company received a lot of positive feedback from customers and is hoping to expand that direction very soon! Enjoy.

Denim & my Eric Michael Sandals

I have to say, the denim jacket is definately my "go-to" summer item. Not only does it do what it's supposed to on those chilly summer nights after the sun goes down, but it also works with nearly any outfit. I love the idea of wearing blue and white together, and adding in this sheer lace dress was the perfect fit. 

Now, I have to brag about these sandals because they are the most comfortable and fashionable sandal I have seen or worn. My grandmother has told me that I need to wear sandals that have more support than the ones that are practically just cardboard soles. So, I did some research and came across this pair of Eric Michael sandals. Not only are they totally chic (and made in Spain) but I could walk in them all day long and not feel any pain in my feet. They are great and I would definately recommend everyone gets a pair. The featured necklace is from MLKANHNY jewelry that I interviewed in one of my previous posts that matches perfectly with the simple flow of this outfit.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has BEGUN!

As much as I hate to think about school only being a month away, it is my reality and as we all know mid-July is the time of year where all the stores in town stock up on school supplies. I think it starts to set a bit of the "back-to-school blues" in us college students, knowing we only have about a month left of complete freedom from our studies. Apart from buying my school supplies around this time, it is also usually a hint that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is just around the corner! Well, the sale began yesterday and lasts all week; in-store and online. Below are just a few of my favorite picks for fall!
